Bırak

You want peace, trust, freedom, love.

The weapon you use is hard work, protecting what you have achieved, adding new achievements, taking care of yourself, defending yourself, repeating, being strong, not making mistakes, not breaking away from the agenda, investing, looking good, struggle, stubbornness, discipline, effort…

Put your weapon down. Take a deep breath. Just today, just this moment, do something different, allow.

Bırak means “allow, let go, let be” in Turkish. In a Bırak session through conversation, silence and meditation you can explore:

  • How you resist yourself, life?

  • How this resistance affects your body, breath, energy, and relationships?

  • Why you resist, and if it serves your purpose?

  • What if you meet this resistance, yourself, life?

Bırak was a deep meditation experience that brought me together with my body and myself. Sometimes meeting means “getting to know each other”, sometimes “making peace”, and most of the time both. In the Bırak field opened by the genuine, sincere and wise presence of Tarık, one comes into contact with the pure love that transforms everything and experiences embracing oneself as one is, with compassion. With this embrace, sometimes a physical problem can melt away on its own, sometimes an emotional obstacle can be removed and life can flow like water. As I let go, I feel lighter, more open and filled with life. And gratitude!

Let Go – Meet Yourself

Do I hold my breath? What if I allow the breath exhale itself?

Is my body relaxed? Are there places I tense up?

What if I stop clinging to identity, belief, thought, posession, memory, consumption, struggle, expectation?

Let Be – Meet Life

Do I let the breath in? What if I allow the breath inhale itself?

What are the emotions and feelings I resist? In what part of my body are they? What if I let them be?

What if I drop blame, denial, exclusion, unforgiving, forcing, escape, hostility, role-play, being right, rigidity?

Bırak is for me the safe break I need, the dance of the mind, the relief of the heart, our rhythms that integrate with nature and love, the stretching of boundaries with curiosity and sometimes even without words, both individually and as a group, getting stronger with confidence. It definitely feels great that this experience is not memorized or predictable, but completely unique and shaped by the energy of the group and now. Bırak transforms my grip on life.

For me, the Bırak practice is like going on a journey. Without preparation, without planning. I think it would be more appropriate to call it hit the road. It is a meditative journey. My teacher Tarık’s guidance helps me notice the paths. After that, it is a flow of its own accord… whatever obstacles, burdens or neglected things I encounter, what I encounter that I hadn’t noticed before, how the transformation happens is a complete surprise.

No matter what I discover, whether I like my discoveries or not, I return with the hope of awareness and being in harmony with myself. I feel lighter.

I am lucky to have met Tarık and his Bırak practice. 🙏

In the Bırak work; the guidance of my teacher Tarık, who gives with a heart full of serenity, openness and compassion, is truly very healing. I feel inspired while working with him. It is also a bonus to benefit from his wisdom-filled joy🙏. When you LET yourself to the safe space that Tarık Hoca has opened, you can experience the freedom to LET GO everything that does not serve you.

Bırak for me, it is not just a meditation but a journey of discovery, sometimes in my pulse, sometimes in my lungs. In each journey, you discover what you are holding there, what you are holding on to, and you ask, “Can you let go?” Sometimes the answer is a great relief that comes with “yes”, and sometimes “no, I am still here, I need to hold on to this”. Both are accepted…
